How does our

virtual camp work?

Every day, Monday to Friday, participants meet online with their instructor and friends. Classes last 2 hours and happen in a virtual classroom every day at the same time for one week. The instructor gives group instruction and individual feedback.

First, the Minecraft camp is for everyone. We’ll adapt to the participant’s level. Then, besides the obvious computer, Internet connection, webcam, audio, and headphones, parents must buy the Minecraft Java Edition license ($29.99).

Is my child going to be able to participate in this camp?

Yes, there is no prerequisite to this camp.

What you do need though is a computer equipped with a webcam, audio input/output, and an Internet connexion that allows video meetings.

The entire Minecraft Coding program is adapted for children and pre-teens aged from 8 to 14. That means the software is a simplified version of the real deal. This helps participants spend less time on mastering technology and focus on acquiring remarkable computer skills.

How much assistance will my child need from me?

Parents must buy, download, and install Minecraft Java Edition before the first class. You will receive detailed instructions from us to help you with the installation.

Please, be available at the beginning of the first meetup in case adjustments are required.

Which software and hardware is required?

Hardware – You need a computer that provides average performance. That would be a processor of at least 2 GHz. No Chromebook or tablets are allowed. To test your computer’s performance, download and run the Minecraft demo. If it runs smoothly, your computer is powerful enough.

Make sure you have enough bandwidth to allow video calls. Also, have a webcam, a microphone, headphones, and a mouse to facilitate your child’s experience.

Software – You need to buy, download, and install Minecraft Java Edition.

Is this camp suitable for children with special needs?

Yes. We welcome all levels and abilities, and our instructors are sensitive to neurodiversity. What you can do to enhance your child’s experience is tell us how we can better adapt to their specific needs – send us an email.

Note that teachers are also available 15 minutes before every classes. It’s a good moment to have a word with them.

Can children in shared custody participate in this camp?

Yes, they can log in from any computer. All they need are their Minecraft Java Edition credentials. Files can be transferred by email or USB key.

What happens if a participant misses a day or cancels their participation?

Class material is accessible on Moodle 24/7. Participants can then go back to class material whenever they need it – including when a class is missed. Instructors are available for 15 minutes prior to the beginning of each class. It’s a good time to ask questions.

If you happen to know in advance that your child will be missing a class, let us know. We’ll be happy to try to add them to another class for a catch-up session.

If you want to postpone a course, simply let us know by sending us an email. You can do so without any charges up to 6 days before the first class. After the 6-day notice period, check our policy.

If you are canceling a course for which you have already paid, refunds are available.
