HOW IT WORKS
New sessions start every Monday throughout the confinement period. Classes last two hours a day, Monday to Friday, combining a bit of theory with a ton of practice.
Children use their personal computer from home with headphones and a microphone (e.g. telephone headset). No need for a powerful computer (details here).
Once registered, you’ll get an email with the access code for the Studio XP portal.
At the class start time, sign on to the virtual classroom and join the group and teacher.
During class, students see their teacher by video as well as their teacher’s screen. They can interact with the teacher and group by raising their hand and asking oral and written questions (chat). They can share their screen and get help.
In case of absence, a student can make up the lesson on their own, thanks to comprehensive teaching aids. Live classes are not recorded.
All software is provided by Studio XP, except for the Minecraft course where every student must have Minecraft installed on their computer. (Find out more here)
ABOUT VIRTUAL COURSES
Students taking our virtual courses love the benefits:
- Children feel right at home, since they’re familiar with live streaming, online multiplayer gaming, and Discord.
- The program includes group activities that encourage teamwork and socialization.
- They can get help from the teacher to use their personal computer if needed.
- They spend more time learning by continuing work at home, between classes, with online help.
- Parents can also attend the course to help if needed.
A personal computer hooked up to the internet. Headset with a microphone.
You have until Friday to sign your child up for the following Monday’s session.
On the Saturday before Monday’s class, you’ll get an email with the Studio XP access code. On the Sunday before the first class, all parents and students are invited to attend a tech meeting where we check to see if all software is installed correctly and that all computers, headphones, and microphones are working.
On Monday, at the scheduled start time, students join their group and the teacher starts the lesson, which will take place every day at the same time.
Yes, it is possible to sign up for several weeks. Your child will continue work with the group that started that week. The registration fee is only paid once, even if you add on weeks after initially signing up.
